Controller's Comments:
Dear WIMS,
Well done for a really good event; the rain held off and the ground was not too muddy. I have looked at the provisional results and they look good. Winners times were about right. The car parking was good on the day, so no real problems with parking.
I had a lot of good comments from competitors about the courses, so well done Karen! Well done also to all the WIM team for a really good event, despite trying circumstances. The bonus was to have the village hall, andalso lots of cakes, not to mention the bacon butties!
I hope all the controls were collected before the rain came down and once again congratulations on an excellent event.

Organisers' Comments:
Hilary has asked me to send you the message below. As co-organiser, holding the fort whilst Hilary was away, I would also like to add my thanks and echo her sentiments below.
Last weekend, on the day before the CompasssSport Cup, I attended the BOF Club Conference as the club's delegate. The conference was all about 'Volunteers & Volunteering'
The main things that seem to come out of the conference were that every club needs a 'Volunteer Co-ordinator' and that the main things that a club's volunteers most appreciate and which gets them to come back and help again is
a) being thanked for their efforts
and
b) the availability of food and hot drinks, if not a party afterwards!
Dick
Thank you so much for all your hard work yesterday to make the event such a success and adapting your roles cheerfully in difficult circumstances. First the route to the start was changed, then all the courses having to be adapted so competitors were not walking through the competition area and then the weather. Special thanks also to those whose job changed and had a much earlier start than expected.
In the end due to the field standing up well to an increased number of cars the actual day, with your invaluable help, ran smoothly and I'm sure, like me, you appreciated the food and drinks after your stint and a run!
Your positive and 'will do' attitude is what makes WIM such a lovely club.
Thank You
Hilary
